A branding exploration for New Jersey’s coolest new diner that’s flippin’ stacks & groovin’ to sweet tracks.

Mac’s Diner is equal parts creative experiment and nostalgic tribute to my hometown of Randolph, New Jersey. Designed live for a YouTube audience, this brand concept was built using random generators and curated assets sourced from illustrators, typographers, and photographers across the web.

By day, Mac’s is a classic traincar-style diner dishing out iconic Jersey fare from a music-inspired menu. By night, it transforms into an all-ages live music venue. The featured event, Sausage Metal Night, celebrates National Sausage Pizza Day with three fictional indie bands taking the stage. Mac, a retired DJ turned short-order cook, spins griddle spatulas and serves up complimentary Snoop Hot Doggs for every concert ticketholder.

Mac’s Diner is a visual love letter to small-town creativity, community venues, and the raw energy of local music scenes in the early 2000s. The branding leans into the freedom of rock-and-roll, blending gritty textures, bold typography, joyful colors, and DIY spirit.
